The Greatest Loser in the World

"Well I am in mood for a tragedy today," the story-teller began,
"And so I'll tell you about the greatest loser in the world, a simple man,
despite all his efforts he never wins, seemingly suffers from a curse,
to quote Crosby, Stills and Nash, he is the King Midas in reverse."

"Everything he touches changes to dust, even Sensex plunges into freefall,
when he invests in the stock market; for example on Satyam he had made a long call.
And you knew Kingfisher Airlines was bound to fail when he put his money on their stock,
if he is even thinking about investing in a share, you should take a long walk."

"And his professional life is middling at best, he isn't a complete failure as such,
but there are no crowning achievements, and as per his appraisals, he doesn't do much.
And like Michael Scott in office, he tries to make his co-workers love him and fails,
he is stuck in the same job for twelve years, and because of experience, is now leading Sales."

"But as you would have guessed, the sales of the company are falling, and pretty badly too,
he would have been long fired, but the company is in decline, and so failing to find someone new,
ergo, the Greatest Loser continues and tries hard, staying in office late, for he has no personal life,
but all his efforts amount to nothing, the latest sales pitch ends exactly like his search for a wife."

"He is 43 now, and still single, with no prospects of starting a family, for no one really likes him,
the friends he made in college are far away now - he looks at old photos, when all of them were slim,
they're busy with their lives, all married with wives and kids - each of them a family man,
he misses them, his only friends, but he is the only one calling and keeping in touch when he can."

"He likes to think of his team as his friends, but they only tolerate him for he is the boss,
and behind his back, he is the butt of many a joke; while making sure to his face he doesn't get cross.
He absolutely hates his seniors in the company, and sometimes he feels a sort of unreserved rage,
makes plans to shoot all of them down, which don't come into fruition for he lacks courage."

"His social life is completely missing, sometimes he sits drinking at the neighbourhood bar alone,
and when a girl sits next to him, he tries talking to her, but she is soon bored, out with a groan,
he thinks about all the girls he has known over the years, with whom he fell in love and got rejected,
and today when this ugly looking girl shows him the middle finger, he finally gets dejected."

"'Life's not fair,' he proclaims to no one in particular, and gets out of the bar, quite high,
'I have tried being happy about life, but it has always made me sad,' he declares, with a sigh,
'And so there's nothing left in this life for me, I've had enough of this rough ride,
with my luck there seems to be only one way out for me,' was how he ended his note of suicide."

The children are shocked, many with tears in their eyes, and they ask the story teller, "Sir but why?
There wasn't much wrong with his life, yes he was unlucky, but why did he have to die."
"Here's a lesson for you all," the story teller says, with a wry smile, "loneliness can kill,
and if you find someone who is lonely, make him a friend, a life you can save if you will."

Another Brick in the Wall

So I saw Ship of Theseus the other day - and I have not seen a movie so intense, yet so clever,
It raised questions about what does humanity mean - I think its the best movie from India ever.
What all should I praise - a deeply simulating philosophical story, the movie is a work of art,
the cinematography is awesome, the dialogues crisp, and the actors all play their part.

It left me with a few questions though - such as "What was my life really worth?",
The feeling was reinforced listening to Vampire Weekend, as well as the Tallest Man on Earth.
Kristian Matsson and Ezra Koeing are both 1983 born, while I was born a year before - in 1982,
but they create such beautiful art while I am a corporate slave - making presentations is all I do.

I have also followed the geeky XKCD comics, and the amazing Abstruse Goose,
and while I wonder at their brilliance, it also makes me feel kind of obtuse.
Having been in love with numbers as a child, I used to regularly solve problems with probability,
Reading these intelligent comics, though, I feel like I have little or no numeric ability.

I am also amazed by Scott Adams, and the delightful stuff he writes every day,
and I marvel at Bill Watterson, the poignant truths that Calvin and Hobbes say.
Garbage Bin also makes me go "WOW", with its 90s middle class Indian childhood theme,
its art like this which makes me feel that my aim of being a writer would remain just a dream.

"All the World's a stage, and everyone has a part" wrote the Bard in one of his plays,
and I had often imagined as a child that I would play the lead hero,  till the end of my days.
But now I think that I was not cut off from the creme de la creme crop,
alas - I do not even have a secondary role, and have become a stage prop.

I am 31 now, and my most creative days have probably gone past,
and its time to accept the truth that the die is already cast.
You can see me at the background, that's me waving for attention as the curtains fall,
I am sorry I have just ended up as Another Brick in the Wall.

A Suitable Girl

Its a bitter sweet symphony this life, one moment everything going great and the future's all bright,
a long appraisal meeting later, and your career is in dark, and your personal life shows no light,
and while you mostly joke about your married friends, and their sad life,
sometimes you find yourself wishing to settling down with a lovely wife.
Your current lavish lifestyle has its own charms, but you are not in your 20s anymore,
how long till you are able to continue like this, you wonder  - surely not much beyond 34?
But how to woo a suitable girl, is the question you have often posed others,
do you go after the girls themselves, or start wooing the fathers and the mothers?
For you are a bit (being very optimistic here) fat, and the girls don't really like that,
but your degrees point to a successful career, and with their parents you can have a successful chat.
The bigger problem that you face is this theory about relationships, which haunts you
its called achievers vs. settlers, and this threatens your hunt for a suitable girl or two.
Now the theory goes as such: there is never an equality in relationships - it depends on your luck,
a 7 will marry a 9, and a 6 might get a 10 - you see some couples and go "What the fuck?"
For some people are achievers, who aim high, and look for a settler, who are willing to settle for less,
and surprisingly this works for many people, it is not a complete mess.
However, you are wary of this for you would like to be an achiever, but you are a jealous type,
and with a settler, you will always imagine her to be cheating on you, it will be a constant gripe.
While if you decide to be a settler, and settle for someone less, you will get bored soon,
And you think you will give up on the marriage after the honeymoon.
So now back to the original question - how do you find the suitable girl,
You will need someone your own equal, and then you can pop the question with a pearl.

Do you consider yourself a grown up?

"Do you consider yourself a grown-up?", I ask her, and she gives me one of those trademark looks,
Then ignoring my question, as she often does, she goes back to surveying my collection of fantasy books.
They are showing the Manchester United Arsenal match on TV and as always, Arsenal's losing,
and the two of us are pretty high, its been another evening of smoking up and boozing.

"You have a beautiful collection of books, and I will borrow Samit Basu next" she tells me,
and picking up the 14th Wheel of Time book, she says, "I can't wait to learn who would Demandred be.
Please don't tell me - it'll spoil the surprise. But give me a hint - is it Taim?
No that would be too obvious - I am sure even Brandon Sanderson is not so lame."

I tell her, "Read the book, its a beautiful climax - the tension just builds up.
But why don't you answer me - Do you consider yourself a grown-up?"
"I will have to think hard to answer this, for I don't really know,
I don't feel particularly grown up though, so I think the answer would be no".

"What is growing up though?" she wonders aloud, and I tell her "that's what I am trying to figure out,
When my parents were my age, they were grown up for sure, of that I have no doubt,
They knew exactly what to do given any situation, and they brought me up too,
and I just feel to grow up to that level, I still have a lot of catching up to do."

Meanwhile, Arsenal have scored through Ozil, and I celebrate, while she gives a pained shout,
"Why did we ever choose Moyes - he has never won anything. My new FB status is Moyes Out".
The Arsenal fan in me enthuses "Arsenal is going to win the league this time around, you wait and see"
"We have seen this optimism before - soon it will be nine years." and she laughs at me.

Arsenal wins -yay!!- through a last minute goal,
and she is at her abusive best, calling David Moyes an asshole.
"I don't think a grown up would have such emotional breakdown when their team loses,
Thank God Manchester City also lost - hatred does have some unique uses"

"I should grow up soon, or that is what my parents tell me as well,
and I think they are planning to get me married, I can hear the wedding bell,
But is it a switch which decides when you grow up, and suddenly you find yourself sure?
for looking at my parents,  I never think I can be that mature."

I tell her: "Maybe growing up is overrated, and its not such a big deal,
but its something you have to do, and that's just how I feel,
and I am taking the first step towards growing up, and I don't know about you,
but there is something I want to tell you - I love you."

A Ballad of Love. Or some other shit.

Kiss me, the Sixpence song, playing in the background;
Reminding Kate of the time she had spent with Ronan around;
And how she was so happy, life was so good, her Wonder Years;
That she still can't understand how did it all end in tears.
That was the one true love of her life, the one she held so dear,
Its been a long while, but he was the only one who came near.
Kate has had boyfriends and lovers and a husband since Ronan left
Although none of them has been able to fill her heart's cleft.

Kate is a memory forever entrenched in his brain,
Ronan sighs as he hears Kate's favourite song playing on the Train;
And memories long suppressed, suddenly find a voice,
There are no second chances, else Ronan would've made the right choice;
The fault was his, of this there is little doubt in his mind,
It was a mistake to let Kate go, she was so sweet and so kind;
Knight in shining armour was what he wanted to be for Kate,
All he could do was be an asshole, and realising it a bit too late;

Kate, the first time he saw her, looked so beautiful and simple,
Ronan still remembers, the train ride and the noisy German couple;
And it was bitching about them that the two of them began to chat,
Thats when they discovered their shared passion for tennis, arts and cats;
They discussed Politics,love and single parents, and passed away the night;
It was like two sides of a coin, it was love at first sight.
Knowing they had found their soulmates, they decided to see each other;
And soon they were living together, having informed her father and his mother.

Kismet, though, had other things in store for them, made them cry,
Right after six months or so, the passion had run dry;
And Ronan had decided he was being constrained, and needed a way out,
That led to increased arguments with Kate, who had her own doubts;
The thing was not going to work, that much was clear to all,
It was always a building that was going to fall.
Kate shifted out, and started seeing other guys, soon marrying,
And Ronan restarted his bachelor lifestyle, partying hard and travelling.

Kate, for all her lovers, never could find anyone to confide with,
Ronan, on the other hand, never found anyone else to spend his life with
And today, the day they first met is ten years in history
That train ride though is still a vivid memory.
There are probably many like the two mentioned here,
It was meant to be true love, but could never quite reach there,
Kate and Ronan is not an isolated case, they were made for each other,
And maybe the made for each other concept is as faulty as any other.

Head-versus-heart

You feel caught between Scylla and Charybdis,
deciding your next course of action.
It is the usual matter of head-versus-heart,
should you follow the money or your passion?

Do you want to go back into the corporate world, your heart asks you,
and the answer to the question is no, you still remember the pain.
But your book's also not going anywhere, your head reminds you,
and your financial solvency is fast approaching that of Spain.

Your head says: to be honest, you havent done much the past 13 months,
except eat, drink and enjoy life to the brink.
But it does feel so right, and you are so happy, your heart responds
There is nothing better than having free time, and a couple of drinks.

People always argue that you are whiling your time away,
that passion is overrated, and they are right.
Moreover, the couple of drinks and other good things cost money, your head says,
so this offer might seem godsend in hindsight.

But if passion does not count, what does, your heart tells you,
and you have already written some 30000 words of some crap;
You believe that you have a bestseller in the making,
and hence this offer is just a Corporate World trap.

Think about your parents, the head reminds you,
and how bad they feel about you being jobless.
You owe them a lot for the support they have given you,
Passing this offer would be a decision most useless.

But then your heart responds,
its your happiness that matters to them, as they always say.
So make your decision based on what you want to do,
and act like you want to and throw this offer away.

The head and the heart argue all night,
and still no compromise can be reached.
Do you take the offer, or tear it?
be a hypocrite, or practice as you preach?

An Old Poem - 2004 - Just came upon it.

Oh I finally got a chance to see the New York City
My brother, living there, was funding my trip with his money
But first there were the Visa hassles and the long queue
"The Photograph should be on a white background", I never knew
So when I reached the end of the line, so long
It was found that my photograph was wrong
The man at the window pushed me out as if I was a dog, and that too mad
And that man was an Indian too, and the fact made me both angry and sad

So well I decided to get a new photograph there and then and out of the embassy I go
and got an auto, whose driver told me he would solve my photogenic woe
He took me far away to a dirty Sarojini Nagar household
which served as a special studio only for people in Visa mold.
I got happy, for my photograph now was okay, the people in the embassy wanted this
but the happiness was temporary, for the photographer charged me Rs. 200 for the effort of his
I got angry, now at the auto driver for bringing me to this place
but then I realised he also must have had his commision to take from my face

He took me back to the embassy and stood in another long queue
Black, white, green and red, my skin assumed different hues
Rage, and anxiety and excitement were just some of the emotions I had
And when I reached the end of the line now, it was not so bad
The woman(another Indian) was not too polite, but atleast she wasnt so rude,
and standing there, getting permission to go inside, I felt like a real cool dude.
The "Interview" was scheduled for 9:00 a.m, and because of the troubled I had faced,
I was two hours late, and feared that I might be rejected, and so fast I paced.

Soon I was down to the final hurdle, a smart American handling my documents,
He was checking my papers, and I waited anxiously for his comments.
My papers were in order, and he asked as I remember his exact words to me,
"When do u graduate?" and as I later realised, the question was the only one he asked me
I replied May 2005,The Interview was over then, and he soon told me
"your visa shall be soon at your door, and happy may your stay in USA be"
Then started the wait for the Visa to come and a long wait it was,
but then it came after some sixty hours, and how happy I was;

Now I came to the question of which airline to fly in
And decided that whichever was the cheapest shall win
The right to take me to the "promised Land"
And finally, to decide, I took a travel agent's hand
He gave me many cheap options but all of them were already full, I was late
I again felt I had faced the terrible hand of fate,
But then an inspiration dawned upon my travel agent Saurabh Bhatia
and soon I had the return tickets to New York of AlItalia.

AlItalia is an Italian airlines, as the name might indicate
There was a stopover at Milan, and there the flight I had to vacate
The flight was late night, and I had to reach the Delhi airport hours in advance
By 11 p.m. I was there at the airport, and there read a book of romance
In some time I had finished ten pages,
waiting for the check in call, seemed like ages
Soon however I heard the check in call
and there my visa was checked thoroughly, and soon I was ushered into the waiting hall

The flight was good, I was on the window seat
Soon over Delhi I was, away from the blitsering heat
Sleeping was my favourite activity there in flight
I read some magazines and had food and alcohol, light
And as the flight progressed further ahead
we were above the clouds, a Cirrus-Columbus blend
Stopped me from seeing the sprawling cities and the vast country side
Even then it was quiet an enjoyable air ride

"Fasten your seat belts" call was later announced
And the tension and excitement on my face was pronounced
Seeing Milan from above the fashion capital of the world
I cursed myself for not having more time on hold
As soon as I stepped out of the airplane and stepped in the airbus
The first rain drops fell as if welcoming us
The rains soon changed into a cyclonic din
And there was another queue for me to stand in

After getting checked in, I found what I least expected
The airplane would be late by an hour I was very dejected
Waiting was hard, besided me was a b'ful girl; on me she beamed
So the hour passed away in a minute, this is how it seemed
I had never expected foreign flights to be late
But now that I had myself encountered this wait
I knew that even alien lands are not Utopias
And what was to follow made me think very low of Altalia.

The flight from Milan to New York was very nice,
and even though, the ticket was of the same price,
This flight offered Hand TV's for an indivivual to see
And I was happy watching movies and drinking tea.
The movies made this flight really very good
And Duplex and First Fifty Dates, improved my mood
So when I saw the New York city approaching
I was in a great mood and I was singing

But when I came to the check out counter waiting for my bag
I found out that the Alitalia administration had a lag
I found out my bag didnt come out from the Customs
The delay at Milan had upset the airlines' system
It was not only me who faced the trouble
I had lost only a single bag, others had lost double
They told us that the bags were left in Milan in the security way
"If you could give the address, we would deliver it at your door the next day."

The Ballad of John and Mojo

And as another lonely Valentine's day goes past,
John is all alone, wishing this one alone would be the last.
He will find someone special, and all will be well,
by next year, and the year hence, we will hear the wedding bell

His mojo though is not so patient, and soon encounters John,
"What are you doing with me, Sir, and why am I a victim of your con?
You - and I - are already touching thirty, and all my friends make fun of me,
I havent had my fair share of women, and a worst thing for my confidence couldn't be"

John tries to console his mojo, as he has consoled his brain,
"There is a special one, somewhere, and let me make it plain,
I am going to find her this year, and the next Valentine's day,
I will not be alone then, and Mr. Mojo, you will then have your way"

"But, that is what you have been telling me for the last ten years,
and its been a long time coming, and now its too much to bear,
I want a woman and I want her soon - I don't understand why are you like that,
when most of your friends are making love, what makes you so alone and aghast?"

John ponders for a while, about an issue he has tried hard to skirt
"I don't really know, Mr. Mojo, but I think its because I cant flirt,
And even if I like a girl, I am unable to put up a decent propose,
for I have a strong inferiority complex, and think I will lose."

His mojo tries to give him hope, and make him see reason,
"Come on Mr. John, don't you be so pessimistic, for you are a man of all seasons,
You are intelligent, and caring, and can talk pretty well - and girls like that,
While you are also pretty rich and your only fault is that you are a bit fat"

John says, "Yes I guess that is true, but I am also maybe a little too proud
And if I love a girl, she should like me too, otherwise there is always some doubt,
I am not ready to fall in love, and then take the sack
because the pain is too much to take, and that is what keeps me back"

"But, Mr. John, this is no reason for me to suffer, and feel bad
there are places like Amsterdam and Bangkok for me to be glad,
So lets go there, and relive Amsterdam of two years back,
Enjoy with the girls there - without any fear of a sack."

And so John decided, on that fateful Valentines day,
that to every girl he is interested in, "I love you" would he say,
or if that would not work, and if girls would still keep him in the dark clouds,
he would like to take a trip to Amsterdam and Bangkok and make Mr. Mojo proud.

About Me - Or something like it

I have been wondering lately,
whether anyone knows the real me
for I find its easy to pretend and say
"This life is the best it could be"

There is nothing wrong with anything,
but still there is a feeling of something amiss
because there was a child where I am now
and sometimes its him that I really miss

Oh how he wanted to be an adult
And achieve all his hopes and wishes
Which were simple enough, to do what he wanted to do,
and earn enough money to eat Afghani Chooza and other exotic dishes

He also wished then to have sufficient money
to buy all the books he could get his hands on
And how he wanted to do something great
Like capture Wimbledon, or become a soccer icon

But knowing him, he would have actually been happy
and I guess so would have been you
doing nothing much but living in peace
and making some money by writing a bad novel or two
(Actually he liked his parents working for him)

The child that stood here is long dead,
along with all his hopes and aspirations that were born
Now if I get any money and any time
I waste it on alcohol or buying some good JJ porn

:"Why Why Why?" I ask myself sometimes
when I am feeling a bit guilty and a bit sad
Have I failed to be the adult I wanted to be
and why I have turned out to be so bad

Dialogues - 1`

"Why do we live?", she asked suddenly, "When life is so full of pain?
Why put in any effort, when we have nothing to gain?"
"Hope, my friend", he assured her, "is on what we live on
Hope of life getting better, and all our worries being gone."

"You know I have been wondering, about the purpose of life,
and finding none, have many a time stabbed my arm with a knife."
"Why, for God's sake, would you do this to yourself, and it amazes me,
why cant you see the gifts of life, and how beautiful it can be."

"Can you explain then, as to why do we live a purposeless existence,
All this talk is fine, but to me now, your words make no sense."
"Think of the people in your life, and those who love you,
and if you leave them and die, what all will they go through."

"But I just dont feel things any more" she replied, "I seem to have lost a part of my mind
What are emotions like love and happiness, I just cant seem to find"
"You know, three weeks before, life seemed worth ending as nothing was going right
I felt like you do, but then I started reading, and writing, and it seems foolish in hindsight."

"I think I am better now. Thank you for talking to me today, and making me see some light,
and I wish you all the luck, wherever you may go, may your days always be bright."
"Just remember, there was a time when I was screwed up as you are,
and if you want someone to talk to, I will always be there."

(To be continued)...

The Green Eyed Monster

I never thought this would happen to me
And this was not how things were meant to be
I was so green with jealousy
to see you with him, so happy

I should be happy for you, a voice inside me says
But then I remember all those long-forgotten days
When we were together, albeit for a brief time
And another voice tells me You should be mine.

I am sorry for feeling this way
But the green eyed monster refuses to fade away
I have become obsessive about you
believing we could make a fabulous two

I think you are made only for me
and so I get so angry, as to why cant you see
That I will keep you happy as well,
And I can even hear the ringing wedding bells.

The world would then be a much better place to live in
And whatever we might have to face, we would win
My only hope is that you will soon realize it too
That there is only one truth : I love you.

For my Friends

The four years I spent
at the nation's premier technological institution
Have been the best of my lives,
A fact I can state with full conviction.

It wouldnt have had been such
if I hadnt found you all
Since the first year, we have been together,
playing tennis, squash and football.

I know I have wasted these four years,
doing nothing much, and with no notable feat,
but if given a chance, these four years,
in this same way I would repeat.

We havent always had the best of times
and I have fought with most of you
but without you I swear,
I would not have managed it through.

This journey wouldnt have been fun,
if you werent there with me,
Then well, IIT would just be
a pretty boring place to be.

These years have been a learning experience
and professors were not the one who taught
U were my real teachers in here
from you guys, I really learnt a lot

You have been my pillars of strength
and to each one of you I could go
with any of my problems, and you were there
to help me and make me come out of my low.

I still get frustrated
when you dont agree with me
but now I understand
without you, how boring life would be.

It has been a pleasure knowing you all,
for all of you have taught me a thing or two,
And best of luck for your future lives,
and wishing you success in whatever you do.

For my Brother

You have been my inspiration
and I have always looked up to you
At this important crossroad in my life,
I am seeking your advice about what to do

I have always adored and admired you
Even though I am ashamed to admit that
I have tried hard to be like you
But failed to do even that

You have been an ideal son,
and mama-papa have been proud of you
As for me, I have been the reckless one,
Today I realise, a poor second out of the two.

You mean the world to me,
and a nobler person I have never seen.
Without you to guide me,
Where I am today, I could never have been.

I have been mean and rude towards you,
but you have never turned me away.
You have given me all your things to share,
And been a constant guide, come what may.

This blog is written to impress upon you
the fact that I could never ever say,
You are the person I look up to,
and I adore you every single day.

For my Parents

I am often left wondering
why do u still think me to be a child
who knows not what he is doing
with friends who cherish acting wild.

I know I have made mistakes,
but I have only grown wiser,
while earlier I used to be naive and rude to people,
nowadays, I have started to try making myself nicer.

You want me to pay more attention
to my studies, and be the best I can be,
but what I really want from life,
that is what you fail to see.

My elder brother has achieved a lot,
and you want me to emulate him
but please, thats not something I want,
I want to follow my fantasies and whims.

I want to find my calling in life,
and want to do things my own way,
I believe that even though it doesnt seem so right now,
Success shall follow me some day.

I still havent decided what I really want
but I am quiet sure this is not what i want life to bring,
So pushing me down this road,
might make me do some stupid things.

I want to thank you, for being such wonderful parents,
And consider myself lucky, that to you I was born,
But I now think that I am ready to go alone,
and take on life head-on.

I believe that you have cared for me the most,
and that's why you are tensed over my decision,
That all you teachings and values will come to naught,
But believe me, and please show in me some conviction.

Yes, I want to be famous, and rich,
but I believe more important things do exist,
and also what matters most is what people think of you,
and so the following tops my wishlist.

I want to be the catcher in the rye,
to make a difference in people's life,
And when I die, may people remember me as,
"This is the guy who made others live life."

Fifty days of solitude (Internship time)..

Quite unlike the famous book
This is not a fantasy but a real incident
On the training and its fifty days
I would like to add some of my own comments

Of the five hundred and eighteen or so students
Who have just completed their training
It is just a small fractionwho
managed to get PPO's with their meticulous working

To the rest, the layman may ask,
"what did you all do in your companies and labs ?"
To which the expected answer may be,
"We had a well deserved rest, and increased our flab."

Some of us well manage to say,
"Our companies didnt pay us, so we didnt have anyhope."
While others have the excuse,
"We were abroad, had to see the whole of Europe."

But for many of us,
Who are in India and earning too,
why is it that the companies
dont offer us a PPO or two?

Is it because IITians dont like to work?
Or is it, because the time is too less
"Fifty days is very little,
what shall u do here, is anybody's guess"

Are the kind of comments I had to bear
Different Questions like this I had to face
It was a new company and as it turned out
I was the first intern the company had graced

In other colleges, students do training in the final year
Some in the seventh semester and some in eighth
But IITs are different in this regard
And I thought that the other colleges had put in theirthought some weight

So I decided to write a letter
asking the T&P Deptt. to extend the days
So unlike the usual convention
IITD can also follow the other colleges ways

Then I thought a lot about the matter as to what would happen to IIT
if my ideas were taken seriously by men or two
The even semester would become(among other things)poltuless
And in the odd semester, What will become ofRendezvous?

At that very moment I knew
it would be probably much better
If I was to drop this idea
and tear apart the ill fated letter,

And then as I sat within my cubicle
I felt an unending sense of doom
There was no other I knew here
I suddnenly noticed my empty room

There and then I felt
a feeling of intense gratitude
for the T&P section had made me
suffer JUST fifty days of solitude.
